Discovery Time occurs three times a week in our classroom. It is a time where children have access to materials and resources to pursue their interests and are responsible for their own learning. My job as the teacher is to facilitate and assist their learning at this time.The children are expected to use technology -digital cameras,computers and mobile devices to work in the areas of science, maths, drama , music and creative arts. During these times children are expected to work at the one activity for the whole session. At the end of the session they are required to write a reflection of their learning and are asked to think about their thinking at this time-metacognition, a word you will hear them using a lot.
